Christmas Cruise

Lee's parents took us on a cruise for our Christmas gift this year. We were gone the 16th-21st. We had a really good time. We left out of Galveston and went to Cozumel and Progresso. The boat was a little rocky and I got seasick one night. Never threw up, just felt really sick to my stomache for a while. It was a lot of fun though. We docked in Cozumel first. I had been there before on a my cruise with my friends in college. So I already knew what to do. Lee and I got off the boat and walked around for a long time. We had our picture made with some parrots and did a little shopping in the street markets. We met his brother and sister-in-law at Senor Frogs. We had a great time taking shots and drinking a huge drink they call the 'yard'. It was even better when Lee's parents came (they are not too keen on drinking) and the waitress gave them both shots before they had time to oppose. It was fantastic. She blew a whistle and had everyone in the restaurant look at them. She rubbed on both of them and even stuck the shot glass down Lee's dad's pants. It was pretty funny. We have pictures of all of it! We spent a lot of time there, then walked around the city some more. I got a piece of my hair wrapped. It was pretty. I also bought a Mexican dress. It's bright blue with lots of embroidered flowers on it. It reminds me of a dress I had when I was a little girl. After lots of walking, we got back on the boat and took a nap. On the boat we had the most fabulous dinners and food ingeneral. We also got the cutest little towel animals in our room every night. They were all so cute and fun. Most nights they were wearing my sunglasses! The next day we docked in Progresso, it's part of the Yucatan. Their pier is 7 miles long so you have to take a bus into the town. Lee and I had booked an excursion so we would have something to do. We decided to go kayaking. The water was never more than thigh deep but it was still lots of fun. We were actually able to get our boat moving quickly in the right direction, which is more than a lot of the people could do! After we finished we went around the town of Progresso, not much to see. It was a pretty disgusting little town. Lots of dead fish on the beach and mangy looking dogs around. We still had a good time though. Then we got back on the boat and got ready for dinner. Overall we had a really good time. We got home just in time to have a wonderful Christmas with my family. I hope you all had a great Christmas and you should know that my new years resolution is to blog more often!!

That's a great in-law story! But, maybe not one that you tell your kids until their old enough to understand.
