July 4th

Here it is, August, and I'm finally blogging July 4th.  Oh well, better late than never.  We had a very low-key July 4th and we loved it.  We started the day with the parade in our neighborhood.  It was incredibly hot but a fun memory anyway.  In all honesty, the kids made it about 1/2 the way through before there was so much complaining from them that we just turned left instead of right and went home!  Next the boys did a little swimming in the backyard pool while Brighton at lunch on the porch and watched.  Then we surprised the boys by taking them to Despicable Me 2.  They were so excited when we pulled up to the theater.  After the movie we staked out a great place to watch the fireworks put on by a local country club.  We sat on the roof of the car and all of us really enjoyed the show.  Both boys crashed on the way home so it was a clear sign that it was a great, fun day.  Miss B stayed back with Grandma this year but we can't wait for her to join us next year.
