Here Comes Rita

So this is the first time in my life I have been preparing for a hurricane. Very strange since we are so far from the coast. They are predicting we will be hit with 40-60 mile an hour winds with gusts up to 100 mph. There is also the threat of tornados. That tends to happen after hurricanes. So who really knows what it will be like. People are fleeing in good ole Texas big time. Lee and I have Nick and Jamie Cochran coming to stay with us from Houston. Nick works for Exxon and they are closed the rest of the week. So we were happy to offer them a place to stay. It should be fun to have friends in town for a while, even though they are fleeing the storm. We are hoping maybe it won't hit as hard as they think but who really knows. All we can do right now is wait. People are freaking out though. Water is disappearing off store shelves and people are buying batteries like crazy. I guess in the aftermath of a storm like Katrina people just get scared. Anyway, that's all the news for right now. More later when I know more.

Woo-hoo: To the stress relievers we found in a closet at work. They are shaped like feet and have provided hours of "foot war" fun.
Boo: Everything is being canceled because of the storm.
