Greetings from New York

Well, we made it to New York on Sunday at about 4:30. I endured my first NY city cab experience. You should all be proud that I didn't throw up! We have had a wonderful time so far. We are staying on the 31st floor of the Grand Hyatt hotel. Its pretty cool, you have to have your room key to get on our floor. We even had a special lounge on our floor with free drinks and breakfast. That is we HAD it until today. It was closed down because of the transit strike. Many stores have closed down early or did not even open at all due to the strike. It is amazing how much these people depend on the subways and the buses. Makes me realize how lucky I am to have a car and how lucky I am that everything is literally 15 minutes away from my house. Anyway, we have probably walked a million miles since that is our only way to get anywhere. Yesterday we went down to Greenwich village. We had a really good time walking around. Then we went to China town. That was an experience. After that we went for a lovely dinner at the Tavern on the Green. The food wasn't all that great but it is a beautiful experience. Then we took a carriage ride around Central Park. It was incredibly COLD but it was fun. After that we met up with Eric Echols and some other friends and we all went to see Wicked. It was so incredible! I LOVED it. If you ever get a chance, make sure you see it. We went to eat and come back to the hotel. This morning we woke up to no subways so we did a ton of walking. We started the day out by going to Serendipity. The frozen hot chocolate was totally worth the walk and the wait. Then we went to do a little shopping. We went to Dylan's Candy Bar, a two story candy shop that was once featured on Unwrapped. I got some Harry Potter candy! We did a little more shopping at Louis Vitton, Tiffany's, and Coach. (We did a whole lot more looking than shopping!!) We also went to Saks 5th, Lee almost lost it when he pointed out a dress that was $2400! We left shortly thereafter! We did a lot more walking and then it was time for the David Letterman Show. It was amazing. We were lucky enough to sit on the second row. He was right in front of us! The stage is much smaller than it looks on tv. It was SO cool to see how they tape a tv show. After that we did a lot of walking around time square and window shopping. Then we waited in quite a line to go ice-skating in Rockefeller Center. It was so great, pretty much a dream come true! Lots of people but we had a really good time. Now we are back in the hotel and beat. We are waiting on some room service! It is incredibly cold here but we are having a great time. I hope to write more later and include pictures! Sorry I have been behind on the posts!

Woo-hoo: Michelle's wedding was gorgeous, she was such a pretty bride.
Boo: Stupid transit strike and wondering how we will get to the aiport on Thursday!
